This morning my mum flew home, and it’s certainly going to be different without her here. We’ve loved having her around, and think that it’s such a special memory for Baby to have, to know his grandma came to visit while he had a short period of living in Rome.

We did so much during the week, including a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour, the Wednesday General Papal Audience at the Basilica, a visit to the Vatican, the ceremony at Trevi to see it lit in red, and a food tour. We also did lots of relaxing too, taking walks every day, window shopping (and a few purchases too!), and with our doctor’s permission, allowed Baby to try his first gelato — he seemed indifferent to it.

Thanks mum, for making the journey to Roma and spending the week with us. We love you!
