Fendi for Fountains

The apartment we have rented is just a few steps from Trevi fountain, which means at least a couple of times a day we have the privilege of walking by one of Rome’s most famous monuments.  Regardless of how many times we pass by, its power hasn’t been lost on me, or the thousands of others clamouring over one another to get a snap of the famous landmark.

Trevi has undergone a repair in the last short while, but now the work is complete, and we have Fendi (the billion dollar luxury fashion brand) to thank for that!

Fendi started in 1925 in Rome as a leather and fur shop, and has designed apparel for women, men and children, as well as successful lines of shoes, fragrances, accessories and eyewear.  Fendi for Fountains was launched in 2013 and, solidifying their love for their hometown of Rome, Fendi donated over US$2.7 million (just over 2 million euro) to the restoration of fountains throughout Rome, starting with Trevi and the Quattro Fontane complex.

Thank you Fendi, for sharing some of your profits with Rome, and for bringing Trevi back to its original, magical state.

I’m working on a few more posts including my thoughts on the top five gelato shops in Rome, and a vegan’s guide to Rome (as unfortunately, Tyler has had to take an antibiotic which doesn’t allow for dairy or alcohol!).  Can’t wait to share our findings with you.

Until next time,

J xo
