For years, when asked what my favourite country was I could reply “Austria” without hesitation. I truly believe it has something for everyone — extreme sports, a rich history, beautiful architecture, a strong arts community and of course, Swarovski crystals.
I’ve visited around 40 countries since first going to Austria so naturally, during the eight-hour day of travel yesterday (with our magical infant son who tolerates everything we throw his way), we had the conversation again of what some of our top countries are. (If you’re curious, Denmark for the lifestyle, Guyana and England for our heartstrings, and Italy for the food.) I wasn’t sure where Austria fit anymore, until we were North enough in Italy to see her mountains: it’s an instant appreciation for nature, and I fell in love all over again. Unfortunately for this trip, we were just passing through, but like running into an old friend, seeing Austria brought back a flood of memories and admiration, securing its spot in the top three for sure!
Here are some photos of our four countries in one day road trip!
Until next time,

Coffee stop in Northern Italy.

Austria for the win!

Ok, Slovenia’s not bad either.
